Crazy Eights is a shedding-type card game for 2 or more players. It is responsible for the origin of countless other card games of the same genre, such as Uno, Mau Mau, and Switch. The goal of the game is to be the first to discard all cards. Crazy Eights is a popular card game played all over the world in different variations. Being a shedding-type card game, the main goal of Crazy Eights is to get rid of all cards before the other players. The condition that allows discarding is either matching the suit or the number of the previously discarded card.
*Shuffle the cards and give each player 8 cards.
*Place the remaining cards in the middle of the table, with the numbers down.
*Let the player begin to the left of the issuer. He must discard 1 card equal to the color or value of the top card of the discard pile.
*If a player discards an 8, this is a wild card and he can choose in which suit to continue playing.
*Continue playing in a circle until 1 player has no cards left. This is the winner!
The characteristics of these cards make this game truly exciting.
*8 – Allows a player to call out a new suit.
*Queen – The next player skips their turn.
*Ace – Reverses the order of play (clockwise to counterclockwise or the other way around).
*2 – Forces the next player to draw 2 cards. If he responds with a 2, he no longer must draw 2 cards. Instead, the player next to him must now draw 4 cards. This goes on until players run out of 2’s.
*Eights can be put on every suit. They are the perfect last card because they do not have to match the suit of the last card.
*If you have the chance to change the suit, always choose the one you have the most cards of. In this case, play a higher card then stay in the suit.
*If an opponent has used an eight to change the suit and you also have the possibility, do so. This is a sure will to mess up with their head and ruin their plans.
A round concludes when one player has no more cards left. The winner of the round collects the points that remain in his opponent’s hands.
Rounds of the game are played until one of the players reaches 150 points. The winner of the game is the first player to reach 150 points.

*The purpose of the game is to get rid of all your cards.
*You can play any card of the same suit as the one at the top of the pile. Example: There’s a club at the top of the pile, you can play any club.
*You can play any card of the same rank as the one at the top of the pile. Example: There’s a six of clubs at the top of the pile, you can play any other six.
*You can play two or more cards of the same rank at the same time, but the first one of them must be the same suit or rank as the pile. Example: There’s a club on the pile. You can play the 5 of clubs, the 5 of hearts and the 5 of diamonds all at the same time. Do this by selecting the cards (right click or Ctrl+click) on them in the order you want to play them. Once you’ve selected them, left click on any of them to play all the selected cards at once. If you are playing on an iPad or another tablet you can click a card and hold the finger on it for a second, then it will be selected. Select the ones you want to play together, and then tap on one of them to play them all together.
*If you have no card that you can play you can draw up to 3 cards from the deck. You can’t draw if you have any cards that you can play in your hand. If you’ve drawn 3 cards and still can’t play you must pass and the next player plays.
*You can always play an eight, and then you can change the suit to whatever you want. The game will prompt you for the suit after you click the eight.
*If the first card on the table is an eight when you start, then you are allowed to put down any card from your hand.About Crazy Eights
This online version of the classic card game Crazy Eights was made by me. My name is Einar Egilsson and over there on the left is my current Facebook profile picture! Crazy Eights was one of the first card games I ever learned (under the name Olsen Olsen) and it’s also one of the first card games I taught my 5 year old son. After I finished my other online card game, Idiot (a.k.a. Shithead), I wanted to make another card game and Crazy Eights seemed like the obvious choice, especially since I wanted to make a game my son could play by himself. Crazy Eight Kids Clothes
The game is made using html+JavaScript+css with jQuery used for the animations. All the graphics used for the game I found at OpenClipArt, a great site with free graphics. The excellent playing card images were made by Nicu Buculei, and the player images were made by Gerald G.
